Our Policies

By participating, you agree to our policies. They apply everywhere we are – events, online, venues, private chats between participants, etc. Policies may change any time without notice.

We reserve the right to:

  • Remove content without notice
  • Resolve concerns at our discretion
  • Ban anyone immediately without refund
  • Ask anyone to leave if they are behaving disruptively or intoxicated
  • Arrange transport if we believe a participant is unable to commute safely
  • Check ID at any time

Eligibility

Participants must be 21 years or older, because we meet at bars and discuss mature topics. Meetup.com does not allow minors on their platform.

Conduct

Keep discussions respectful, spoiler-free, and Safe for Work.
Please be thoughtful and patient when you speak and act. Give everyone a chance to participate. Respect everyone’s identity, pronouns, boundaries, and lived experiences.

Arrive on time, presentable, and ready to chat!
Update your RSVP and notify us of last-minute concerns. We ban No-Shows on their third absence. Stay within your tolerance (alcohol and cannabis). Respect others’ safety and comfort.

Avoid disruptive or unsafe activity.
We ban ads, solicitations, political endorsements, divisive comments, trolling, promotion of unsafe or unlawful behavior, and illegal downloads.

Report any form of harassment or hate.
We have zero-tolerance for abuse or harassment. Actions motivated by hatred, prejudice, or intolerance and behavior that creates an intimidating, hostile, or demeaning environment are forbidden.

Harassment includes remarks that reinforce exclusion based on gender, gender identity and expression, body size, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age, and religion. It also covers sexual imagery, innuendo, stalking, recording without consent, inappropriate contact, and unwelcome attention. Hate includes language, symbols, and memes that promote bigotry, fascism, and defense thereof.

Contact us if you are uncomfortable or have concerns.
Participants must comply with requests immediately.

In-Person Events

  • Update your RSVP as your plans change.
  • Respect others by avoiding cancellations, absences, and tardiness.
  • Message us if a serious matter forces you to cancel last minute.
  • Arrive no more than 15 minutes early or 15 minutes late.
  • Leave unexpected guests or outside food at home.

3 No Shows = Banned
Those who RSVP but don’t attend are marked “No Show” without notice. Three No Shows is an immediate ban without notice or refund.

When there’s a waitlist…
We monitor the “Going” list for changes 24-hours prior to the event. Anyone altering their RSVP or ghosting us (no show, no message) will be removed from our group. Anyone arriving 15-minutes after the event starts is placed at the end of the Waitlist. Waitlisters can hang around for open slots. First-come-first-served.

Stay within your limits.
Some folks use alcohol or cannabis to calm social anxiety or be a more present attendee. If you choose to use a substance, you will ask an organizer permission before bringing them, imbibe responsibly and lawfully, commute safely, and comply with all Conduct policies. You will NOT arrive intoxicated, pressure others, disrespect personal boundaries, engage in unsafe activity, or violate state or federal laws regarding controlled substances.
