By participating in AnimeChicago activities, you agree to our policies. These policies apply to all events, online and offline venues, and private chat between participants. Policies may change at any time.
Participants must be 18 years or older. Why? Because we occasionally meet at bars and discuss topics unsuitable for minors.
Code of Conduct
Keep discussions respectful, welcoming, and Safe for Work.
Please be thoughtful and patient when you speak and act. Give everyone a chance to participate. Respect everyone’s identity, pronouns, boundaries, and lived experiences.
Arrive on time, presentable, and ready to chat!
Update your RSVP status and notify us of last-minute cancellations. We ban No-Shows on their third absence. Stay within your limits if drinking alcohol or using cannabis and respect others’ safety and comfort.
Avoid disruptive or unsafe activity.
We ban spoilers, advertising, political endorsements, divisive comments, trolling, promotion of unsafe or unlawful behavior, and illegal downloads.
Report any form of harassment or hate.
We have zero-tolerance for abuse or harassment. Actions motivated by hatred, prejudice, or intolerance and any behavior that creates an intimidating, hostile, or demeaning environment is forbidden.
Harassment includes remarks that reinforce exclusion based on gender, gender identity and expression, body size, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age, and religion. It also covers sexual imagery, innuendo, stalking, recording without consent, inappropriate contact, and unwelcome attention. Hate includes language, symbols, and memes that promote bigotry, fascism, and defense thereof.
Contact us if you are uncomfortable or have concerns.
Participants must comply with warnings immediately, even if the action is not explicitly prohibited. We reserve the right to handle violations at our discretion, remove content without notice, and expel anyone immediately without a refund.
